michael’s bio

Residing in Minneapolis, MN, I’m married and have five children. I love exploring the city, good music (especially classical, jazz and bluegrass), reading, biking, coffee made with my DSC_0333 (1)Bialetti, Guinness among friends, and meeting new people.

An alum of the University of Minnesota and Reformed Theological Seminary, my primary theological influences are St. Augustine, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Jonathan Edwards, C.S. Lewis,  John Stott and J.I. Packer. I also appreciate Shakespeare, Os Guinness, David Wells, John Frame, Tim Keller, N.T. Wright, Marilynne Robinson and Bill Watterson.

I previously worked for Desiring God writing and editing content, and presently serve on Matthias Media’s Board of Directors (USA) and an editor for the Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals.

I advocate historic orthodox Christianity as summarized in the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds, and appreciate various classic Reformed confessions. Some of my broader evangelical convictions are nicely articulated here.
