The End of Evangelicalism? “Yes,” Says Prominent Theologian

Al Mohler interviewed Stanley Hauerwas? “No, that can’t possibly be!” I thought.

Delightfully, it’s true.

Centering on theologian Hauerwas’ recent book Approaching the End: Eschatological Reflections on Church, Politics, and Life, the 50 minute-long dialogue is devoid of filler. Mohler, more Charlie Rose than Jimmy Fallon, conducts a substantial and interesting interview as opposed to merely entertain.

Mohler and Hauerwas discuss the present and speculated future of Evangelical Christianity, including the primacy of the local church, prophetically speaking the truth, and the value of liturgical repetition. Thought-provoking stuff, especially for pastors and elders. But any serious and reflective Christian, especially Evangelicals, would profit from listening to it.
